The Dunes Riding & Racing Stables (BeachRides.co.za) is set right on Noordhoek Beach, one of the longest, whitest beaches in Cape Town. Riders of all experience levels—beginners to advanced—are welcome. You can amble along the shoreline, splash through the seasonal lagoon, trot or gallop (for experienced riders) on the racehorse training track parallel to the beach, or simply enjoy a relaxed ride through dunes and surf. Besides beach rides, The Dunes also operates a racehorse training stable with about 40 thoroughbreds; some rides use retired winners. The setting is often used for film, photography and fashion shoots because of its dramatic coastal landscapes.
