Nestled in the dramatic Hemel-en-Aarde (“Heaven and Earth”) Valley near Hermanus, Bouchard Finlayson is a celebrated boutique estate with 25 hectares under vine surrounded by 100 hectares of pristine indigenous fynbos—earning acclaim as a WWF Conservation Champion for its sustainable practices and biodiversity preservation.
Founded in 1989 by French Burgundian winemaker Paul Bouchard and local pioneer Peter Finlayson, the winery helped pioneer South African Pinot Noir. Today, it’s renowned for crafting exceptional Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, made using Burgundian-inspired high-density planting and precision viticulture that maximizes flavour concentration.
Visitors are welcomed into an elegant tasting cellar where guests can sample a range of offerings—from affordable standard tastings (R25–R70) to premium flights featuring iconic wines like Galpin Peak Pinot Noir, and flagship options such as Tête de Cuvée Pinot Noir and Missionvale Chardonnay (R160–R350 per person).
