Beach Road, Mouille Point, Cape Town, South Africa
Nestled along Beach Road in Mouille Point, just steps from the Atlantic and framed by Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, and Table Mountain, The Blue Train Park is a beloved Cape Town institution since 1958.
This charming, pet-friendly adventure park spans about 10,000 m², offering a miniature “Old Lady” blue train that delights both kids and adults. A single ride costs R45 per person, or grab a family pack of ten rides for R400—note that only card payments are accepted.
The park rests in a shared space often used for picnics while awaiting your turn on the train; shaded tables and umbrellas are available on a first-come, first-served basis. While play equipment is currently under refurbishment, the train and station are fully operational.
Opening hours are Wednesday through Sunday, during school holidays, long weekends, and public holidays between 10:00 – 18:00, with the last train departing at 17:30.
